+KRIS GRAVES PROJECTS presents the closing for Sultry II & Adam Taye's Quorum (presented by Outside.The.Time.Zone) on Thursday, August 5th from 6pm to 8.30pm.

Sultry II is a continuation of last year's Sultry I show. The conveyed theme throughout the exhibition, deals with the idea of, "sensual imagery" that isn't overly sexualized or pornographic...Each photograph enables the viewer to focus on the details of each subject, in a way that isn't forced. Skin, Hair, Sweat, Gaze, Movement, Posture and angle, are all the main qualities that are being suggested with each picture.

Taye's Quorom draws parallels between the Council of the Twelve Apostles and deification of the modern athlete. Through tradition, dedication, and the repetition of Sisyphus-like tasks, the athletes are able to transcend ordinary existence and enter a higher state of consciousness, granting them visceral harmony with space and time.
